In the same week, we have seen two significant awards events: the 93rd Academy Awards and The Vendies.  The annual presentation of Oscars in the film industry may be the better-known event. Still, anyone in the Vending Industry will know that The Vendies is the main awards event that recognises achievements in vending in the UK.

We were delighted to see Sir Anthony Hopkins named as the Best Actor for his role in ‘The Father’.  Our congratulations go to him.  We were also delighted to be winners at The Vendies, not once but twice!  We won the title of ‘Best Regional Operator’ and ‘Best Overall Operator’ categroies.

We have something else in common with Sir Anthony Hopkins; we have successfully won these awards in the past.  The Welsh actor picked up the same award over 30 years ago for his performance in ‘Silence of the Lambs’, and we’ve been winners at the Vendies on two other occasions.  In 2018/19 we won the ‘Best Regional’ and ‘Best Overall Operator’ titles, and in 2015 we won ‘Best Overall Operator’.

We also note that Sir Anthony Hopkins has become the oldest person to win the ‘Best Actor’ Oscar, at the age of 83 that is a significant achievement.  It shows that age is not a barrier to success; in fact, it’s probably his undoubted talent and vast experience that enables him to continue to win such prestigious awards.
