Don’t worry, after almost 24 years in the vending industry the introduction of reverse vending is not a U-Turn; instead, it is a further demonstration of our commitment to the environment.  In fact, it’s not too dissimilar to the once common practice of refunding returned glass bottles.

Reverse Vending Machines are automated machines which utilise advanced technology to identify, sort, collect and process used plastic bottles and cans, and we are delighted to announce the arrival of a state-of-the-art machine in our showroom in East Kilbride.

We are keen to demonstrate the value of these machines and how they can help to encourage the responsible disposal of plastic bottles and cans.  There are a range of machine options depending on the size of your operation, but all are designed to make it easier to collect, sort and dispose of bottles and cans in an environmentally friendly manner.

Making it easy to collect and sort containers is only the start.  The Scottish Government is currently considering a pilot scheme whereby they would purchase reverse vending machines and implement a Deposit Return Scheme designed to encourage and incentivise consumers to use them on a regular basis.  Similar schemes in other European countries have seen return rates of 70% to over 98% of sold plastic bottles and cans. The Deposit Return system would mean that if you returned a plastic bottle or can to a Reverse Vending Machine, you would be issued a voucher for say 10 or 20p, this could be used against future purchases.

Alternatively instead of taking the Voucher you could choose to donate it to a chosen Charity, so you could massively help the environment and some local charities at the same time.
