After reading the Guardian article Pet dogs are the new must-have accessory at the smarter office last week we were inspired to introduce our four legged members of staff.
Our Managing Director, Jane, has two furry friends – Cleo, Head of Security and Ralph, her assistant. Having the run of the office, well trained Cleo and Ralph like nothing more than greeting visitors with a polite sniff. Before Cleo and Ralph were on the scene, Jane’s German Shepherd Sheba ruled the roost for 13 years until she sadly passed away. However, Excel’s canine colleagues are strictly kept to the office area only, far away from any food storage areas as per our stringent health and safety standards.
We are big dog lovers here at Excel Vending and we love nothing more than having them by our side in the office. Dogs are an integral part of Excel’s culture, and have been since we opened our doors in 1993. We think having a friendly dog in the office brings joy and companionship as well as creating a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere – helping with those ‘ruff’ days at the office.
More and more modern offices are adopting pet friendly policies as having an office pooch has been linked to increased productivity and lowered stress levels, as well as building trust in teams and helping to strengthen relationships between staff. We have to agree, and Cleo and Ralph say ‘woof’!
