At Excel Vending, we pride ourselves on offering our customers exceptional choices, especially when it comes to coffee. As a coffee-loving nation, we know that consumers are more discerning than ever. Moreover, they are environmentally conscious. So, while great-tasting coffee is crucial, it is not the only factor influencing a buying decision.
At Excel, we believe we’ve found the perfect combination of delicious, ethically sourced coffee from a socially conscious B Corp company right here in Scotland.
Dear Green Coffee Roasters is a Glasgow-based speciality coffee roaster committed to ethical sourcing and roasting high-quality, sustainable coffee. Excel Vending is delighted to partner with them in bringing their delicious coffee to our customers.
The company was founded in 2011 by Lisa Lawson, who has successfully guided it to exceptional growth while staying true to the values that inspired her to enter the coffee industry. Their commitment to the environment is certainly not simply paying lip service to sustainability.
Everyone who works at Dear Green is obsessed; they roast it, pack it and drink gallons of it, and they genuinely want to share their love and knowledge with coffee lovers. But it goes further; they are also obsessed with where the coffee comes from. They only work with carefully selected import partners and producers whom they know and trust. That means there’s transparency, traceability and sustainability in every roast.
Not content with all of that, they are a member of 1% For The Planet, and they commit a further 1% of their annual turnover to social justice organisations. Dear Green has also committed to reducing their emissions to Net Zero by 2030 and becoming a circular business as part of Glasgow’s reduction targets. Since achieving B Corporation status in 2020, they have worked year on year to improve their B Corp Score, putting climate, community, and coffee at the forefront of everything they do.
Speaking about the partnership, founder Lisa Lawson said: “We are delighted at the prospect of working with Jane and her team at Excel Vending; they have led the way in unattended retailing and the provision of automated hot drink solutions for many years in Scotland. Like Dear Green, they are committed to excellent customer service and climate justice. We are particularly impressed with their work with the Glasgow Cup Movement and in reverse vending, both of which have played a significant role in reducing waste to landfill and promoting responsible recycling.
“Our partnership will enable us to introduce new consumers to Dear Green, of which we are very proud, and it provides Excel Vending the opportunity to offer another quality brand that aligns with their values.”
Excel Vending Chair, Jane MacDonald added: “Dear Green is an exciting addition to our portfolio; it is a brand I have admired for some time. Their values are perfectly aligned with Excel’s, and their product is of exceptional quality. Even better, they are another Scottish-based company genuinely flying the flag for sustainability.”
