Some time ago we set out to design new paper cups for our vending machines and our social media community played a very important part in the process. We asked them at the time which of the final two deigns they liked best, and they responded in their thousands. One of the social media posts had 1500 comments! The final result was very close, and we got some great suggestions for future designs along the way.
It was a really interesting exercise, perhaps one that more companies should explore. It has allowed us to get enormous feedback about the cups long before we put them into production. Given the vast quantities we print, it is invaluable to know that customers like the design before we commit to theses big print runs.
The cups were manufactured by Benders, one of the leading manufacturers of paper cups in the UK. Their in-house design team worked very closely with us to ensure our chosen design translated properly onto the finished cup.
The cups have now arrived and the feedback has been extremely positive. Especially about the surprise part of the design left out of the original social media posts. The upper portion of the cups include an inspirational quote from some famous people, every quote includes the word ‘excellence’. We hope it will inspire our many vending customers in work environments to be excellent in what they do. We’d also love to hear which of the quotes is your favourite.
At the bottom of this post you will see some pictures kindly sent to us by the cup makers, Benders. They show our beautiful new cups in production.
Share a pic and we’ll share a KitKat…
We are delighted with the final result, and to mark the launch of the new cups we are running a fun competition; we’d like you to share a picture of you with your Excel cup on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ExcellentCup, in return we’ll send you a KitKat that you can share with your friends, or keep to yourself!
This offer runs until the 31st October and is limited to the first 50 entrants. The entrants will be contacted on their chosen social media channel to arrange delivery.
