To kick off our 25th anniversary celebrations, we’re starting with a look back at Excel’s commitment to charitable giving and our corporate social responsibility programme, which is an integral part of our business ethos. As a business, we believe it is important to give something back and we are happy to do this on a regular basis.
We have always had a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and this is demonstrated in a number of ways:
· by supporting charities
· through sponsorship
· by having respect for the environment
· by supporting community based project
Caffe Praego and The Point Foundation
We have been proud to support the wonderful charity that is the Point Foundation and the work that they do to support, educate and care for disabled children in East Africa.
We support The Point Foundation in a number of ways; one way is by stocking Caffe Praego coffee which is grown high in the hills in the coffee trees of Rwanda. For every case of the coffee sold, £3 is sent to the Point Foundation for use in community projects in Rwanda. We have recently introduced Caffe Praego and have already raised over £2000 – and the fact it is a superb tasting coffee and is really popular with our customers is a mere bonus!

We also sponsor a young man called Andrew Niyibizi through the Point Foundation and have done so for a number of years. Andrew is a keen violinist and keyboard player and we have been supporting him in his education for some time, this year at a cost of £500. We receive regular updates on Andrew’s progress and are proud to sponsor such a conscientious young man.
Annual Christmas giveaways
Every Christmas we run our annual giveaway and last year we produced a feel-good festive video starring some of the Excel Vending team singing their hearts out and showcasing some of our wonderful suppliers who generously donated their goodies. We asked our Facebook and Twitter followers to comment on our video and nominate a charity they would like to receive a donation and so we handed out goodies to 12 very deserving local charities, including a shelter for the homeless and a dementia carers group.
Throughout the year we also get involved in sponsoring community charity events, a recent one being the Walk of Hope for Chris’s House which our Major Account Manager Kim Armstrong took part in.
We are proud to support many charities and will continue to do so over the next 25 years!
