We are very excited to announce a new addition to our vending machines – Matcha Latte. To celebrate the arrival, we have launched competitions on Facebook, Instagram, and X, and judging from the response, Matcha Latte is going to be a big hit with our customers!
We are working with PerfectTed, the number one Matcha brand in the UK, to bring you two of their latest drinks;Matcha Latte Strawberry and Matcha Latte Vanilla perfect drinks to fuel your day. Made with ceremonial-grade Matcha from the foothills of Japan, and velvety gluten-free oat milk, this balanced blend delivers a natural, smooth boost (contains 60mg caffeine—equivalent to 1 shot of espresso). Both the strawberry and vanilla flavours are naturally sweetened with agave, and contain no refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, or synthetic caffeine.
The benefits of Matcha are well-documented, and well-respected evidence suggests regular consumption improves alertness and focus, contributes to better mental performance and provides longer-lasting energy.
Harvard Medical School is among the many respected institutions to recognise the possible benefits of Matcha, they have an interesting article on the topic. They explain, “Matcha is a type of green tea. It is grown in the shade, which has the effect of boosting the amount of certain phytochemicals (plant chemicals that offer a range of potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory effects), antioxidants, and other ingredients it contains compared to other types of green tea.”
Specifically on the subject of whether or not Matcha contains caffeine, they state: “Caffeine content is typically higher than that of other green teas but lower than that of coffee. Here’s a caffeine comparison for one 8-ounce cup of each:
Green tea: 23 milligrams (mg) to 49 mg caffeine
Matcha: 38 mg to 89 mg caffeine
Coffee: 100 mg to 120 mg caffeine
We know from social media activity that Matcha is a big favourite, particularly among younger consumers, but given the apparent benefits, we think it will be a massive hit with all our consumers.
