1993 was a good year – Excel was founded, and the latest member of our growing team, Kim Armstrong, entered the wold of vending.
Kim Armstrong (Reid) has joined us in the role of Major Account Manager. If you’re in the vending industry, you will probably know, or have heard of Kim; as we have said, she has 23 years experience in the vending industry. We are therefore delighted to welcome such an experienced and professional person to the growing team at Excel Vending. Her knowledge of the industry will be invaluable to the expansion of the business.
As Major Account Manager, Kim will work with our numerous key accounts to deliver the level of service synonymous with Excel; she will be responsible for reviewing accounts, optimising performance and generally adding value for existing customers. In addition, Kim will utilise her considerable business development experience to help us expand the number of key accounts across Scotland.
Kim is naturally excited about her new role, and when asked why she chose to come to Excel, without hesitation she replied, “Reputation played a major part in my decision, I have been on the competing side of pitches and tenders for years and it was always difficult to win business when Excel were involved. They have an unblemished record for integrity and professionalism which is driven by excellent customer service, and I wanted to be part of their team.”
When asked what she was looking forward to most, Kim said, ‘I have worked for some of the largest organisations in the vending industry, but what Excel offers that they can’t is the ability to make decisions and tailor solutions that exactly match the clients requirements, I’m looking forward to being able to provide that level of satisfaction to the customers I’ll be working with.”
Away from work, Kim is a family woman, even though her two sons, Cameron and Stuart, have reached the ages of 20 and 17 respectively, they still need lots of motherly attention. When not looking after their needs, Kim devotes much of her time to Chris’s House in Airdrie where she is also on the Board of Trustees. As a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Kim gives her time freely to help prevent suicide.
Excel’s Managing Director, Jane MacDonald, is delighted, talking about Kim’s appointment she said, “I’m delighted to welcome Kim to the team at Excel, she is a great addition for us. Her professionalism, experience and knowledge of vending fits perfectly with standards we set at Excel, we are all looking forward to working with her.”
If you would like to say hello to Kim, please feel free to drop her an email, or even give her a call, she will be delighted to talk to you and help with any queries you may have. You can email her at kim@excel-vending.co.uk, or you can call her on 07793 777389.
