On the 24th of March it is our 31st Birthday; yes, it’s 31 years since Excel Vending commenced trading and supplied our first vending machine. Since then, we are proud to say that we have remained profitable year on year and we also have a number of customers who have been with for the whole journey since 1993. Our customers, like our wonderful team, stay with us year after year. We believe our customers love the continuity of the business and our friendly team.
Although there is stability at Excel Vending, we are well known for embracing change! We are often the first to market with new brands and technology. There have been huge advances since 1993 such as cashless systems, connected telemetry, micro markets, milkshake vendors, specialist food machines, smart fridges – the list is endless. The concept of unattended retail has evolved significantly and I think it’s fair to say that Excel Vending are one of the front runners. However, one thing that has not changed and will NEVER change is that we genuinely care about what we do. Some years ago we adopted the tagline “We Care.” We used it because it’s true, not because it looks good on our website.
At Excel Vending, it’s simply not about what we say ; it’s about what we actually do. That’s how we want people to measure us. It’s also one of the reasons that every new customer is sent out a ‘key contact list’, complete with mobiles and emails of all the key staff at Excel Vending. We don’t hide, we are all easily contactable! It is also why we implemented our customer thermometer embedded into our emails. This provides customers with the opportunity to feedback to our team and the glowing responses just reinforces the excellent service our staff provide:

We were the first Scottish vending solutions provider to attain ISO 9001, 14001 (Environmental), 45001 (Health and Safety) and Safe Contractor.
Why do we bother maintaining these accreditation? Frankly because standards are important to us and REALLY important to our customers. They want to know that they are dealing with a company that doesn’t just “Talk the Talk” but can also “Walk the Walk”. We deliver on what we promise.
On the advent of our 25th Anniversary, we used that special year to announce our accreditation as a Living Wage Employer, because for us it is important to look after our people. We care about our team.
We care about our community and support many charities and local food banks.
In 2024, as we celebrate entering our 32nd year in business, we are delighted to announce that we are pursuing accreditation as a B Corp Company. Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. It is a rigorous journey to become a Certified B Corporation, but we think it is one that is worthwhile and that we can justify, as it embodies all our beliefs. Our team have been working on this since our 30th Birthday and it ties together the work that we have done over a number of years. We have worked with our suppliers, staff and customers to establish our Environmental and Social impact. The Excel Vending team are rightly proud of the journey we’ve gone through as part of the accreditation process and we hope to be able to confirm accreditation shortly.
As we look forward to the years ahead. We will continue to embrace change and the arrival of new technology and processes, but one thing will not change is our philosophy “We Care”, because it’s embedded in our culture.
