Congratulations Living Wage Scotland, we are delighted to be one of the two thousand

Excel Vending is delighted to have been an accredited Living Wage employer since February 2019. It is one of our most rewarding accreditations. We are proud to be part of the growing number of companies paying the real Living Wage in Scotland.   We are also delighted with today’s announcement that the foundation has reached the significant milestone of 2000 Living Wage employers in Scotland.  We also welcome PURE Spa & Beauty and congratulate them on being named the 2000th fully accredited Living Wage employer in Scotland.

The Poverty Alliance launched Living Wage Scotland in 2014 to increase the number of employers in Scotland recognised for paying the real Living Wage. Living Wage Scotland is a partnership with Living Wage Foundation, and is funded by the Scottish Government.

In 2014, there were less than 20 accredited Living Wage employers in Scotland. It is genuinely heartening to see more and more employers with the shared aim of ensuring wages reflect living costs.

Speaking about the growth, Lynn Anderson, Manager at Living Wage Scotland, commented: “Living Wage Scotland, Despite the challenges of Covid and Brexit that have impacted many Living Wage Employers, the network continues to demonstrate resilience, leadership and commitment to looking after workers at a time when they need it most.

“To have reached this milestone in the uncertain context we are operating shows that your leadership on tackling low pay and in-work poverty is working. The strength of the Living Wage movement in Scotland is a significant influencer to others. More employers than ever before are seeking to join us as accredited Living Wage employers, and this is thanks to every Living Wage employer that has paved the way for this.  Congratulations to each of you – to all of us on this shared milestone.”
